The early 1980's was a difficult time for Stoke City, but it was a time for entertaining soccer with an attacking style of play. The wing skills of Mark Chamberlain, the prowess of Lee Chapman, the creativity of Mickey Thomas and the quality and experience of players like Sammy McIlroy and Dave Watson combined to produce some incredible games witnessed by the Potters faithful. A 4-0 thrashing of Watford, 4-1 victories over Birmingham and Swansea, a 5-2 win over West Ham, all were nothing compared to the incredible 4-4 draw with Luton at the Victoria Ground - incredible scenes!
