OLYMPIQUE MARSEILLE

A unique club

L'OM is a unique club in France. First of all because it is the one and only French club to have won the Champions League, and will forever be the first. The arrival of Bernard Tapie in 1986 was a great boon to the Marseille club, which was coming out of a very complicated period, even coming close to bankruptcy in the early 1980s. Following the arrival of its new president, the club won 4 consecutive French championships, a French Cup but also and above all this famous Champions League in 1992/1993. L'OM won the final against AC Milan thanks to a superb goal from Basile Boli's header. After that, the club was plunged into another dark period with a descent into the second division. Olympique de Marseille then returned to winning ways in France with the title of French Champion in 2010 and their 3 consecutive League Cup wins in 2010, 2011 and 2012. A veritable club of extremes with its national record of 10 French Championships, 10 French Cups, 3 League Cups and 3 Champions Trophies, OM can always count on the support of its loyal supporters. Renowned throughout France and Europe as a very warm audience, the supporters make the Velodrome Stadium a real impregnable fortress.
The Marseille club, led by Dimitri Payet, Florian Thauvin and Steve Mandanda, are hoping to move up the table alongside PSG in the coming seasons, to take part in the Champions League and thus rub shoulders with the biggest European clubs such as Juventus, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

OM football shirts

The club from Marseilles has been wearing a white shirt at home since its inception. This colour was chosen to represent the purity of Olympism advocated by Pierre de Coubertin. White shorts and blue socks made their appearance in the 1920s to symbolise the colours of the city. French outfitter Le Coq Sportif was the first to appear on an OM shirt in 1969 and remained so until 1974, when adidas signed a contract with Olympique de Marseille. The contract lasted until 2018, with the exception of a few years with Reebok and Mizuno, before finally moving to Puma the summer before the 2018/2019 season.

Whichever equipment manufacturer dresses the Olympique de Marseille club, the sky blue and white colours have always been kept on all of OM's football shirts, whether short or long-sleeved. The changes were mainly made to the shape of the V-necks or round collars, to the striped, vertical striped or other patterns. The most controversial tunic changes were made to the third tier shirts, which were able to adopt orange colours, particularly between 2007 and 2013, thus leaving aside the traditional colours of the Marseille club in the European Cup.

This 2019/20 season, Puma and OM are presenting shirts in line with historical examples. The OM replicas on offer at Foot-store all have the club emblem embroidered on the left chest, the Puma logo embroidered on the right chest and 100% polyester material to enhance the shirt's breathability.

The home shirt is white in the Phocaean tradition, with a V-neck and fine light blue edging, all spaced several centimetres apart. The logos are sky blue and the Uber Eats logo, OM's sponsor this season, is black. This sponsor was controversial at the start of the season as it was presented in green, which was not to the delight of the people of Marseille. The official or personalised flocking on this shirt is sky blue, bordered by a gold edging. On Foot-store, you can flock this home shirt with the names of OM's great players, such as Benedetto, Payet, Thauvin and Kamara. The outer shirt is the opposite of the home shirt as it is blue with white details and a round collar. The Puma and club logos are white, which is also the case for sponsor Uber Eats. The round collar is white all around the neck, which makes it stand out from the rest of the shirt. Finally, the OM third football shirt is completely black with the Olympique de Marseille logo and the Puma logo in orange. The V-neck is not highlighted by any other colour, and the Uber Eats sponsor is always white. On Foot-store, we propose you to find these OM football shirts at unbeatable prices on the web. We make them available for adults and children alike with these junior shirts, baby kits and mini-kits.
