A strategic club

AS Monaco is one of France's biggest football clubs. The club's first team is currently playing in Ligue 1 Conforama, the elite league of French football. Since its foundation in 1924 and the acquisition of its professional status in 1948, the Monegasque club has been able to add a few major trophies to its trophy cabinet. AS Monaco have won 8 French league titles, 5 French Cups and 1 League Cup at national level. At the European level, the club does not yet have any trophies but has been able to play a Cup Winners' Cup final and a Champions League final lost in 2004 to FC Porto de José Mourinho. At the time, AS Monaco had players such as Ludovic Giuly, Morientes, Patrice Evra and Jerome Rothen in their ranks. AS Monaco are known for many reasons in France. First of all for the list of honours that has just been mentioned, which is among the most prestigious in the country. Secondly, for its highly effective training centre, with many champions having emerged from it, such as Thierry Henry, David Trezeguet, Emmanuel Petit, Lilian Thuram and, more recently, Kylian Mbappé. And finally, the club is known for its paradisiacal setting as it is located in the Principality of Monaco. The club's stadium, the Stade Louis-II, is often not very full as the number of fans living near the stadium is quite low. The AS Monaco club competes every season for the top places in Ligue 1 Conforama with OM, OL, LOSC and PSG, and competes against the biggest European clubs in the Champions League such as Manchester City, Juventus and Arsenal. The 2019/20 season got off to a difficult start, but the club has managed to bounce back with new recruits such as French international Ben Yedder and Algerian international Slimani.

AS Monaco football Shirt

AS Monaco's traditional colours have been red and white for many years, so it is only natural that the club's equipment supplier Kappa has once again used these colours to make the home Shirt for the 2019/20 season. Kappa returned to the club on 1 July 2019 and has signed with AS Monaco until 2025 to equip the club. Monegasque outfits were already marked Kappa between 1998 and 2001. This season the brand had the ambition to unveil 3 new Shirts appreciated by all Monaco fans. The home Shirt is red and white with the traditional diagonal cutting the Shirt in two, a red upper part and a white lower part. On this Shirt, we can also see subtle tone-on-tone lozenge patterns, symbolising the coat of arms of Monaco. The Kappa logos on the shoulders and right chest are gold. The inscription "Daghe Munegu" on the back is also in gold. The collar of this home tunic is a Mao collar. AS Monaco's 2019/20 outer Shirt is much less in line with what we are used to seeing from the club du Rocher. This tunic is more in line with the image of luxury that the Principality inspires, with this combination of black and gold. On this predominantly black Shirt, we find the various lozenges symbolising Monaco's coat of arms. The logos of the sponsors Kappa and Fedcom, as well as that of the club, are all gold and stand out, including many of the dark Shirt. Finally, AS Monaco's third Shirt is surprisingly Mediterranean blue and promises to be a showstopper on the pitch. The markings on this Shirt are all dark blue. We also find the different rhombuses already present on the first two Shirts.
