WORLD CUP 2022

This year, the 2022 World Cup is back for its 22nd edition. Organised by FIFA, it brings together the 32 best national teams. For the first time, the 2022 World Cup will take place in winter, from 21 November to 18 December 2022 in Qatar!

This 2022 World Cup will be the last one with 32 national teams, from 2026 the tournament will have 48 teams. But at present, 64 matches will be played between the 32 national teams. They will give their all to defend their country, their colours and their jersey and become the next team to top the most beautiful international competition.

So who will succeed the French team?
The French team of Kylian Mbappé, Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba will be keen to defend their World Cup title that they won in 2018 in Russia against Luka Modric's Croatia.

Where and when will the 2022 World Cup take place?

For the first time in the history of the competition, the 2022 World Cup will be held in winter! More precisely from November 21 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar. This long pause in the various championships is due to the high temperatures experienced during the summer in Qatar. It was therefore necessary to organise the 2022 World Cup when it is less hot, i.e. between November and December. The competition will start with the Senegal-Netherlands match on 21 November at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha and the final will take place on 18 December 2022 at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.
6 stadiums have been fully built and 2 upgraded in 5 different cities which are: Doha, Al Wakrah, Al Rayyan, Lusail and Al-Khor.
