For the first time in the competition's history, the World Cup will be held in winter! More precisely, from November 20 to December 18, at Qatar. This long pause in the various championships is due to the excessive summer temperatures in Qatar. The World Cup therefore had to be staged when the weather was coolest, i.e. between November and December. The competition will kick off with the Qatar - Ecuador match on November 20 at Doha's Al Thumama Stadium, and the final will take place on December 18, at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.
6 stadiums have been completely built and 2 modernized in 5 different cities: Doha, Al Wakrah, Al Rayyan, Lusail and Al-Khor.
