Home jersey Cameroon 1989
During the 1980s, the Cameroonian national team slowly developed a dynamic that would reach its peak during a remarkable World Cup campaign in Italy in 1990. A first qualification for the World Cup first came in 1982. Two years later, Cameroon beat Nigeria to become African champions for the first time and, as the decade drew to a close, a powerful team came together under the experienced leadership of Russia's Valery Nepomnyashchy. Veterans like N'Kono, Antoine Bell, Kunde and Milla brought their experience and know-how to a team featuring younger players like Oman and Kana-Biyik.
