The 1994-95 season saw manager Joe Jordan depart after less than a year in charge, only to be replaced by his own predecessor, and fan favorite, Lou Macari, who returned to the club after a brief spell in Scotland. Macari brought in players such as Kevin Keen and Ray Wallace, but it was the summer acquisition of Canadian striker Paul Peschisolido that was most telling. Toddy Orlygsson's formidable form in midfield also impressed fans, but it was another of Macari's new signings, Larus Sigurdsson, who edged out his Icelandic compatriot for the "Player of the Season" award.
