This version offers the same responsiveness and neutral support you love, but with improved comfort in sensitive areas of your foot, like the arch and toes. Whether you're doing long marathons, a pre-sunset speed session or a spontaneous group outing, this is still the established road shoe you can trust, day after day, race after race.

Peg 40 offers neutral support. It gives you balance, whether you're a heel or forefoot striker. It's equally suited to long and short runs, providing a smooth transition from heel to toe.
• The more cushioning underfoot, the smoother and more comfortable the run. Cushioning reduces the impact when your feet touch the ground. Feel in touch with the ground thanks to Nike React technology, a lightweight, durable foam that offers comfortable, responsive running. It retains its shape, stroke after stroke, to give you a consistent feel.
• The more responsive the shoe, the greater the energy return with each step. Whether you want to run a little faster or with a little less effort, reactive shoes give you a little more spring in your step to get the most out of your run. We've combined Nike React technology with 2 Zoom Air units (1 in the forefoot and 1 in the heel) to give you a rebond and elastic feel, as well as an energized start.
• A highly fitted single-layer mesh creates an inviting feel and fit. We've redesigned the midfoot strap for a better foot fit, adapted to all arch sizes.
• When we sat down to design the Peg 40, we took an inside-out approach, literally, starting with a mid-foot strap for a more secure, yet forgiving feel, as if the Peg gave your arch a welcoming, soft embrace. We wanted the shoe's interior to be comfortable, breathable and forgiving in the toe, arch and heel areas, where your feet are most sensitive, thanks to a circular pattern that allows it to conform to your foot.
