The Peg is an elastic shoe for any race. The familiar feel of the Peg, just for you, is back to help you achieve your goals. Decked out in retro plaid prints and covered in a shaggy curtain, this premium version pays homage to where it all began, selling sneakers through the sliding door of a beat-up blue-and-white delivery van with nothing but a dream. Premium two-tone laces and old-school graphics from our archives highlight a design rooted in Nike nostalgia. This version offers the same responsiveness and neutral support you love, but with enhanced comfort in sensitive areas of your foot, such as the arch and toes.

The combination of the right support and judiciously placed cushioning means you'll feel secure with every step. Peg 40 offers neutral support. It gives you balance, whether you're a heel or forefoot striker. It's equally suited to long and short runs, providing a smooth transition from heel to toe.


• The more cushioning underfoot, the smoother and more comfortable the run. Cushioning reduces the impact when your feet touch the ground. Feel in touch with the ground thanks to Nike React technology, a lightweight, durable foam that offers comfortable, responsive running. It retains its shape, stroke after stroke, to give you a consistent feel.

Whether you want to run a little faster or with a little less effort, reactive shoes give you a little more spring in your step to get the most out of your run. We've combined Nike React technology with 2 Zoom Air units (1 in the forefoot and 1 in the heel) to give you a rebond and elastic feel, as well as an energized start.


• A highly fitted single-layer mesh creates an inviting feel and fit. We've redesigned the midfoot strap for a better foot fit, adapted to all arch sizes.


• When we sat down to design the Peg 40, we took an inside-out approach, literally, starting with a midfoot strap for a more secure, yet forgiving feel, as if the Peg gave your arch a welcoming, soft embrace.


• We wanted the inside of the shoe to be comfortable, breathable and forgiving around the toes, arch and heel, where your feet are most sensitive,


• with a circular pattern that conforms to your foot.


• The heel area optimizes landing space and improves transition and durability.


• The waffle-inspired pattern ensures grip on the road.
