In the club's centenary year, the 1991-92 Division 2 campaign got off to a poor start for Watford, and by the time the calendar turned to the new year, Steve Perryman's team found themselves just above the relegation zone. Nigel Gibbs' courageous defending and top scorer Blissett's goals helped Watford to 8 wins and just one defeat in their last 13 matches, taking Hornets to a respectable 10th place in the league.
