Sir Elton John, a die-hard Watford FC fan born in nearby Pinner, fulfilled a childhood dream by becoming chairman of the club in 1976. Sir Elton, alongside manager Graham Taylor, transformed Watford into the "The Original Family Club" and oversaw the team's ascent to the highest echelons of English soccer. A second-place finish in the First Division, an inaugural European campaign and a maiden FA Cup final are just some of the highlights of a truly golden era, which continued in the late 90s with a return to the club and a heroic rise to Premiership.As well as regularly attending matches at Vicarage Road, Sir Elton has performed three concerts at the stadium over the years and will return in July 2022 for two very special farewell concerts on his final world tour.
