Over 99% of running shoe manufacturers ignore the potential of the big toe during running, not us! Pilot 1 focuses on relieving pressure on the metatarsophalangeal joint. Here, the ToePilot® (patent pending), with its unique geometry, deflects pressure during the rolling process and prevents overloading of the premier strand. This technical innovation requires no stiffening of the sole. The naturally cut, wider toe box offers exceptional comfort during the rolling process, particularly in the propulsion and pushing phase: the big toe can perform its most important anchoring and stabilizing function without restriction. This unique feature combats the unpleasant "runner's hallux". Thanks to the lacing tunnel, the Pilot 1 fits securely over the instep without obstructing it. Our innovative nmblFoam® midsole lasts up to three times longer than conventional foams, with significantly higher resilience values. The crash pad is inspired by the naturally rounded shape of the heel bone, providing a smooth, balanced transition between the landing and propulsion phases. The innovative PU foam adds a few grams to the weight of the shoe, but does exactly what it's supposed to: maximum comfort and a relieved push during longer runs on asphalt.
