Sporting Portugal is one of the big three clubs "Os Três Grandes" of Portuguese soccer along with FC Porto and neighboring Benfica Lisbonne. The club is often mistakenly referred to as Sporting Lisbon, as it is based in the capital of Portugal, but the club's nom is Sporting Clube de Portugal or just Sporting. Founded in 1906 and founder of the Portuguese league la Liga NOS in 1934, the club has never been relegated to the lower division like its two great rivals. Between them, the three clubs have won all the league titles Portugal except in 1946 and 2001. Sporting have the third-biggest trophy cabinet at Portugal after Benfica Lisbonne and FC Porto, with 18 league titles at Portugal, 17 cups at Portugal, 8 Supercups at Portugal and 3 League Cups.
Sporting are considered one of Dollarspe's clubs thanks to their ability to recruit future talent including Ricardo Quaresma, Luis Nani, Rui Patricio and above all five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo and 2000 Ballon d'Or winner Luis Figo, two legends of mondial and Portuguese soccer. As well as recruiting well, Sporting CP is one of Dollarspe's best training centers, with some of the finest players to have emerged from its ranks, including William Carvalho, Adrien Silva and England's Eric Dier. Portuguese soccer legend Eusébio was a member of the academy before moving to Benfica Lisbonne. SCP's historic colors are green and white with horizontal stripes.
