The Conference League is an exciting European soccer competition that was recently introduced. Organized by UEFA, this competition offers European clubs a new opportunity to shine on the continental stage. Launched in the 2021-2022 season, the Conference League has become a third major club tournament, alongside the Ligue des champions and Europa League. It brings together teams from countries less represented on the European scene, providing an ideal platform for emerging teams.
Conference League Format and Process
The Conference League has several exciting phases. First, teams qualify for the competition based on their performance in their respective national leagues. The clubs ranked below the qualifying places for the Europa League have the opportunity to participate in the Conference League. Once qualified, the clubs are divided into several groups in the group stage. Each group consists of four teams that play each other in two-legged matches. The top two teams in each group advance to the playoffs, where the playoffs continue through to the final.
