Futsal - Rules & Information
In Futsal, the ball is not played against the walls. The playing area is defined by the lines of a handball court. It is played 5 against 5 (4 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper) on handball goals. The Futsal ball has a reduced rebound and a circumference of at least 62 cm to a maximum of 64 cm (compared to a football which has a circumference of 68 to 70 cm). The ball has a relatively low pressure (0.6 to 0.9 bar of overpressure compared to 0.6 to 1.1 bar of overpressure for a standard size 5 football). This sport has been practiced for several years in official championships by the German Football Association (DFB), UEFA, and FIFA. There is also a Futsal national team appointed by the DFB for men.
