Copa Football Retro Netherlands Football Shirt 1905

The year 1905 marked the first match of the Dutch national team, their first victory, and the emergence of their first great international player. On April 30th, Oranje travelled to Antwerp for an inaugural match against their future historical rival, Belgium.

The Dutch were leading until a late own goal sent the match into extra time. Eddy de Neve then excelled with a hat-trick, securing a comfortable 4-1 victory and the Coupe van den Abeele trophy. Two weeks later, the same player scored two more goals in the return match, which was won 4-0 in Rotterdam.
