Discover the retro shirt of Club Bruges KV from the historic 1977-78 season, designed by Copa Football for true fans.
Club Brugge solidified its role as the dominant Belgian club of the decade with the 1977-78 season, which turned out to be the biggest in the club's history to date. Ernst Happel's team won a third consecutive national title, but it was on the European stage that the club pioneered. Their progress in the European Cup was made possible by an impressive home reputation, too strong for Kuopion PS, Panathinaikos, Atlético Madrid, and Juventus. The Blauw-Zwart became the first and only Belgian club to reach the final of the most prestigious European cup, but sadly, in the absence of the prolific striker Raoul Lambert, they narrowly missed out against the defending champion Liverpool, who won by a single goal at the legendary Wembley Stadium.
