Relive the history of Panathinaikos FC with our 1984/85 retro shirt from Copa Football, a symbol of their success in the football league.
Champions in both the year before and the year after, the 1984-85 season saw the Panathinaikos miss out on the Greek title, finishing 3 points behind PAOK. A lot of attention was focused on the club's European campaign, which took them all the way to the semi-finals of the Champions Cup.
This season was also marked by the arrival from Panionios of a future club legend, Dimitris Saravakos. The talented creative forward had an excellent first season, finishing as the league's second top scorer with 15 goals. He developed a great understanding in deeper positions with Juan Ramon Rocha and another newcomer, Velimir Zajec, before pushing forward to combine brilliantly with strikers Charalampidis and Dimopoulos.
